Hejőszalonta: Demonstration “against gypsy-terror” is coming up

A demonstration will be held on Saturday evening, in Hejőszalonta, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, with the participation of far right Jobbik Members of Parliament. Participants will be carrying torches.The call for joining the march is “Demonstration against Gypsy Terror”.

On 23 March a woman was killed in Hejőszalonta, based on information available as of right now, by her tenants. The same day, Zsolt Egyed and Gergő
Balla, Members of Parliament of Jobbik published a statement saying “A brutal
murder was committed by gypsy criminals in Hejőszalonta, the victim, a 50-year-old
local woman, was killed in her own house. Based on the accounts of the local residents and a policeman, who asked not to be named, the woman’s
throat was slit and she was stabbed several times in her own house.

In the public call for action submitted to Független Hírügynökség (Independent News Agency) by Márton Szegedi – county and Miskolc Vice Chair of Jobbik, says
says everyone is welcome to join, who thinks that gypsy terror must be ended.
The march with torches is organized to commemorate the woman, who was recently murdered. The march will start at the local sports field, at 6 pm, and will lead to the
murdered woman’s house, where candles will be placed.

The main organizer of the event ran for office as a Jobbik candidate in the 5th voting district of Miskolc in the 2010 local elections, but he is currently not a Jobbik representative. According to the call for action, Tamás Schneider, Vice Chair of Jobbik; Zsolt Egyed and Gergő Balla Members of Parliament of Jobbik; Márton Szegedi, Chair of Jobbik in Miskolc; and Árpád Miklós, Chair of Jobbik in Borsod- Abaúj-Zemplén county will all speak.
